Media Smart Lab is dedicated to promoting media literacy among children and youth. Our interactive learning tools, such as quizzes, case studies, and actionable resources, encourage visitors to explore and share the content, fostering a deeper understanding of digital manipulation, misinformation, and ethical concerns surrounding digital platforms.
We also focus on exploring how emerging technologies manipulate children’s perceptions and influence behaviour to complement existing digital literacy efforts by focusing on real-time monitoring, research, and advocacy for child protection in digital spaces.
This project has been developed in collaboration with Media Smarts, Canada’s bilingual centre for digital media literacy since 1996.
To equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world responsibly, understand the influence of technology, and protect themselves from digital manipulation.
